Flexible Seating for a Collaborative Classroom

Help me give my students more choice with flexible seating options while engaging in collaborative learning opportunities with the ECR4Kids youth sofa, ECR4Kids 3-piece set, and the Big Joe bean bag chair.

My Students

My 2nd-grade students live in a rural community on the Big Island of Hawaii. They enjoy going to the local beaches, skate park, and the community pool. My students' backgrounds are diverse including socioeconomically, culturally and linguistically.

My 2nd graders are the most determined, persistent, exuberant, and creative group of children.

They love to read, listen to stories, dance, sing, and play learning games. I am privileged to be their teacher.

For these reasons and more, my students are deserving of a classroom environment that is conducive to optimal learning.

My Project

For the last 10 years, I've given my students choice of where to sit in the room during literacy centers, while working on math assignments, and while working on other collaborative projects. However, it's not cozy. They lie on the hard tile floor or the carpet area that does not have any padding.

When a co-worker moved, she let me have her ECR4Kids sofa and it's the most popular sought out seat in the classroom.

I would love for my students to have a variety of seating options. Please help my students and me transition to flexible seating to continue their collaborative learning in a cozy way.
