This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second grade students come to class everyday full of energy and ready to learn! Throughout the day my students move around the classroom to work on the rug, work in small groups and work with their friends. Movement throughout the day helps my very energetic students stay on task and maintain a positive attitude about their learning.
Flexible seating options in my classroom will help me continue providing the much needed movement and sensory stimulation my very young students need as part of their learning environment.
Sitting on the floor to work on writing? Practice reading on a cozy bean bag? That would be an amazing classroom experience! A floor round table, floor cushions, and bean bags would allow my student the opportunity to step away from their desk to sit on a much fun and comfortable area. This group of seven-years-olds spends most of their day in a classroom; help me bring flexible seating to their learning environment.
