My worldwide future citizens of our beautiful and sacred earth are unique critical thinkers, determined to excel in life and mindful of their emotions as well as of their peers' and teachers' emotions.
Working with children throughout the years, has truly opened up my mind in viewing their eye-opening ideas and imagination, which has inspired me to become ever so creative in the classroom.
About half of my students come from other countries and may speak little to no English, our desires to connect and communicate to one another comes naturally. I have been able to become fluent with basic words/phrases in several languages, in order to assist my students and making them feel more comfortable. Some have even written mini notes in their home language and have also attempted to do so in English, along with their drawings. In addition, they love to give hugs, smiles and high-fives.
It is a privilege to teach the youth and make a positive impact in their lives. I look forward to listening to my little ones, as I guide and support their learning needs for their future endeavors.
My Project
With flexible seating arrangements, students will naturally make themselves at home. Our children are special, so it is important to make the classroom inviting and kid-friendly. Students will use these wobble stools during centers and/or as a special request.
Being that our children are active and flexible to begin with, meeting their needs in an indoor environment accommodates their needs.
I plan to use flexible seating for the long-term and I will continue to develop this further, but for now, I will begin with the wobble stools. I have witnessed first hand how active children can be and truly would benefit with these stools. The children will love them and they will be requesting more!
