My Students
I have a classroom full of fun-loving kids who are so inquisitive and eager to learn. My students have a wide range of abilities and very diverse needs, but we all get along so well. Our classroom community is a place where we are all accepted, honest, and safe.
Working at a Title I school means that many of my students lead challenging lives.
Every day I am surprised by how much these kids care for one another. I love helping my students find their voices as they learn how to overcome their own obstacles on their journey to change the world.
My Project
These portable lap desks will allow my students to have more options when it is time to work independently on their Chromebooks, or with books, paper, and pencils. Surf portable lap desks can be used on a chair, the floor, or any flat surface. They encourage a better sitting position than just having my students sit on the carpet with their Chromebooks on their laps, which can cause their necks and backs to get strained and tired. When students have choices about how and where to sit, they are more likely to be deeply engaged, put forth their best efforts, and produce quality work, which leads to deeper learning.
