My students need optional seating and markers. Just like no two students learn the same, no two seats should be the same. When it comes to writing the "no two the same" still applies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It tickles me pink to see my students imitate me when I give them "free center choice". Instead of using computers, playing with puzzles, or choosing something fun, they choose to role-play and be me. This is why as a teacher, I have to be very cognizant of the type or model I am teaching my students to be. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district in the south-central, I enjoy making my teaching interesting, creative and meaningful for my students.
My students are creative, intrigued in learning new things in varied modalities, and they are very loving and caring.
They love to read, love lots of positive attentions, and have a positive outlook in life. They love to explore while moving around. They have inquisitive minds. My students are awesome!
My Project
There is nothing like having a white board marker with a white board and optional seating. My students love having optional seating.
"It's okay to bounce and write," is what I would say to my students if we can get funded for these two items I am asking for.
Just like no two students learn the same, no two seats should be the same.
My students would look forward to their writing center if they had fun while writing. Flexible seating and the ability to write on a small white board would be an ideal scenario for my kinder and first graders.
