This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are fun-loving, curious, and always excited! They genuinely love the adventure of learning and find joy in each day at school—even if it's just the fact that they get to read in the library! My friends come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, but they don't let that get in the way of the hard work they have to do.
They are readers, authors, rappers, dancers, artists, and musicians.
They are diverse, multi-faceted, and have much more to offer our world than many give them credit for!
My Project
It is so important to my students that I have a diverse collection of books in our classroom library. Recently, they've requested non-fiction resources because they are becoming more curious about the world around them.
TIME for Kids would be a wonderful weekly resource that I could share with my students to help them broaden their world-views and feel more connected to the world.
The Comfy Floor Seat Chairs as flexible seating options would further motivate my students to read. These chairs are comfortable and will help my reluctant readers feel more "at home" in the library. These materials will make a huge difference in their lives as readers and help them prepare for 6th grade!
