My Students
A classroom should be a SAFE-HAVEN to foster LIFE-LONG Learners. In my classroom, students walk in knowing they are in a supportive learning environment. They work SO hard because they KNOW they are loved and supported. These are students who come from all walks of life, but they are able to leave any negative thoughts and emotions at the door because they can't wait to come in, be loved, and learn everything they can without the fear of making mistakes or not understanding concepts that are put before them. I have a major BOY majority, with only 5 girls! Can we say dinosaurs, trucks, and tons of ENERGY!? My students are truly the reason that I absolutely LOVE my job! They make EVERYDAY worth giving my ALL!
My Project
Backed by research, flexible seating is the new TREND in education. As a Kindergarten teacher, I would LOVE to be able to bring these research based seating options to the students of my class.
When students are able to move around and are given CHOICE, they are more likely to take ownership in their learning!
These seating options, along with the book bins, will be used throughout EACH day to meet the needs of ALL of the learners in my classroom. I cannot wait to see the self-motivation and hard work that will result from these new seating options. Long gone are the traditional lessons, with desks in rows, and textbooks being "rote" read. It's a NEW day, it's a NEW time in education, and I am so excited to see the learning that will take place as a result of these purchases!
