My Students
I am a speech therapist! I work in all self-contained programs which means each of my students have unique special needs. Many of my students are intellectually disabled, nonverbal, have learning disabilities, autism, and are preschoolers with developmental delays. Many of my students come from low-income households. They are all working towards different goals, and are such a joy to work with!
My Project
Many of my students have a difficult time paying attention when asked to sit still, so I am asking for wiggle seat covers for my busy bodied kiddos so they can let out their wiggles while attending to our speech room tasks. Dot Markers and Play Doh are great ways to keep busy kiddos entertained when we are requesting items (verbally or nonverbally) or keeping track of our trials for practicing our articulation! The Food Set is to keep in my speech room when we do our food themed unit, and talk about Core Vocab words: attributes and actions. Finally, the baseball card sleeve is what I store my PECS (picture exchange communication system) pictures in for my nonverbal or minimally verbal students! :) Thank you for your support!
