This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students are eager to create and build! My students are designers and solvers of real world problems and given the appropriate materials, they can see their prototypes come to life! They are enthusiastic when it comes to designing ways to lift up their community. They are kind and caring towards one another and with your support they can hone their design skills and build empathy so they go out into the world and make a difference!

My hope is that every child leaves my classroom excited about learning and ready to think critically about the world around them.

My Project

To support my students, I would like to create an environment that considers their comfort for improved student engagement. Where ever they choose to sit, whether it's a balance ball seat or flex-space comfy floor seat, students will have a choice to learn in the manner that best suits them at that moment in time.

These soft seating opportunities will foster collaboration, communication, and creativity.

This simply cannot be achieved by sitting on a hard chair all day long. Join me in building a classroom that is designed through the eyes of a child that honors their needs and comfort.
