This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
All of my students are unique and learn in different ways and at different rates. I have students in Transitional Kindergarten through sixth grade. Some students need help in Language Arts; Writing and/or Reading and in Mathematics. They receive help in the areas they have most difficulty with.
The students are all excited about learning new things and being successful.
The students know that they are important, cared for and loved here at school. They are proud of their accomplishments.
My Project
New Curriculum for Special Needs students:
Help me give my students new Language Arts curriculum and flexible seating so that they can be excited about learning.
Some of the students in my Special Education classroom sometimes take a lot longer to learn concepts presented in class. When we see them in a smaller group, we present the concepts again. Some of the students need to see the same type of material in a variety of ways in order for it to be retained. It would be better for them to have new curriculum and assignments to work on, instead of giving them the same assignments they completed last school year.
New books always make learning concepts more exciting.
It would allow the students to practice skills they have not mastered. The flexible seating allows the students to have a little bit of movement while still working.
