Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'm a 5th/6th grade diverse learner teacher in the west side of Chicago. I would love to help my students have materials that would make them feel safe and loved. I work with predominantly black and brown children who deserve the world and much more. Having flexible seating and materials for reading centers would help them excel in their education. I work with students who have Autism, ADHD, and other specific learning disabilities. For them, moving around the classroom and picking their seats helps them focus on the learning goal for the day. Whether it be working on their reading centers such as playing literacy games, using technology, or writing. Having flexible seating and reading games helps them learn and be more engaged in the classroom.
They love to choose where to sit and where to work on their assignments.
This project will help me create the physical space that they need. Please help us give them just that!
