Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Second Graders are full of energy and love learning! Several students in my class are ELL students where they are just learning to speak English for the first time, while other students in my classroom may require different special needs.
I teach at a Title I school where all of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
I am happy to be that positive, influential role model that my students see every day. My goal is to teach the whole child allowing my students to feel healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged. I look forward to watching my students grow each year.
My Project
We use Daily 5 centers in my classroom where my students constantly are moving around. Flexible seating in my room will provide a variation of colorful, inviting, and comfortable areas for my students to read and learn. In this project I have chose stools for my guided reading table, wobble cushions, and cushioned floor chairs. We all know that students learn differently and need to be presented with choice.
Flexible seating allows for a more student-centered classroom.
These type of seats provide a variety of high, medium, and low seating. The students then move to the furniture based on their needs.
