My Students
My fifth-grade class is composed of engaged, creative, and clever learners. They come from various backgrounds and learn in different ways. They have been introduced to flexible seating this year and have had great success. They have been able to learn in an environment that is most comfortable and optimal for them. Giving them flexible seating has increased their productivity and ability to focus on their work and tasks at hand. I would like to give them the same experience they have had in fourth grade to continue their success.
My Project
My classroom is a flexible seating classroom. I would like to add additional flexible seating options to give my students choice in where they would like to sit, so they can learn best in my classroom. I incorporate tables into my classroom and have stools and yoga balls surrounding those tables. With this project, I will be buying donut seats, which allow the students a comfortable seating option that is not distracting. All of these options will allow students to have spaces within the room to work, rather than sitting in traditional desks, which is not appropriate and ideal for all students. With your help, my students will have the opportunity to choose what seating option is best for them.
