My Project
Elementary students are traditionally expected to sit in rigid chairs all day to learn. Many students cannot do this due to behavioral, physical, or mental disabilities, or simply because they have the wiggles. There are alternatives to being uncomfortable in school. Flexible seating could allow students the freedom to choose how they are most comfortable to succeed academically and socially.
I am researching the effects of flexible seating in the classroom for my Master's Degree.
I want to know if flexible seating has an effect on student success overall. Most students with behavior issues do not succeed academically or socially. I’m interested to learn if choice of seating has an effect on behavior, thus leading to success in other areas.
I need different seating options in my classroom to be able to complete my Master's Degree study of the effect of flexible seating on student success.
