Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are always excited to learn new ways to communicate and express themselves through the arts.
My students represent over twenty-five countries.
They come from diverse backgrounds that provide them with unique points-of-view.
My school is also a Title I school, and more than half of our students are English Language Learners. My students live in neighborhoods where poverty and crime are the norms. My students face numerous struggles each day. They come from families that are not always able to provide supplies or academic assistance.
Despite all of the challenges my students face, my students come to school every day with smiles on their faces and a love of learning in their hearts. It is very simple; my students love school. School is their safe place. It is more than just the place where they come to learn. It is the place where they are loved!
My Project
The seating options I am requesting will provide my student's with more personal choice in their learning experience. Allowing students to choose where they sit will help empower them to make other personal decisions during their creative journey. Students will be able to stay focused and let their creativity flourish because they won't be confined to the decades old chairs that currently occupy my classroom.
These seating options will help transform my classroom into the unique, individualized room my students deserve.
They will have options as diverse as them and be able to choose what works best for their learning style. My classroom is student-centered and my lessons are designed to be direct reflections of my students' diverse backgrounds and personalities.
I think my students are the best students out there and I just want to give them the best possible classroom learning experience. Thank you for helping me do that.
