Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
When students come together as a class on the classroom rug, many skills are being developed, and skills to connect as a classroom family are built.
Carpet time supports early learners' academic and social-emotional skills.
On the classroom rug, students will start and end their day. This rug will reinforce their phonics knowledge, math talks, help students establish boundaries in finding their own space, and assist with daily routines. This rug will provide a welcoming environment for current and future students.
We are also asking for flexible seating for those students who are unable to sit on the rug. Some students are uncomfortable sitting on the rug. We want everyone to feel comfortable in our class during our group lessons. Flexible seating allows us to ensure everyone is learning in the environment.
I am needing the other resources listed to help ensure students learning!
