Our school corporation is a rural district, trying to equip our students with the skills and experiences to be successful in our ever-changing world. I have the privilege to teach a multi-age second and third-grade class. I love teaching literacy, problem-solving, and thinking skills!
My second and third-graders are naturally curious and I want to help support them as they collaborate and learn creatively!
As their teacher, it is my goal to create opportunities to make them curious about the world around them. My goal is to empower them to ask questions and find answers. My students deserve it!
My Project
I am requesting lap desks, floor seats, and the biggest beanbag chair I've ever seen! I am asking for these items to create a learning environment that maximizes student engagement.
These materials will allow for quiet individual spaces and areas for collaboration, all with the intent of fostering dynamic learning!
It is imperative that teachers create a safe, culturally inclusive learning environment that allows students to feel safe and valued. The lap desks, floor seats, and beanbag chairs will add the environment where students are able to choose the type of seating that best meets their academic needs with an emphasis on learning as a social construct.
