My Students

My school is a Title I school where all students receive free lunch. This is a dynamic that impacts student learning. I strive to make sure that all of my students feel loved, valued, challenged, and supported so that they can reach their full potential.

My students are absolutely incredible, each of my 22 students is from diverse, low-income households but the potential they have is immense!

The majority of my class is composed of English Language Learners as well as students with various learning disabilities.

My students work so hard and the growth I have witnessed through their progress since the beginning of the school year with all of the challenges they individually face in their lives each day is exceptional.

The love that they give to me as their teacher is indescribable, so rewarding, and, undoubtedly, one of the best feelings I have ever experienced in my life.

My Project

My students need to move their bodies while they learn. Flexible seating will increase engagement in my classroom by keeping my students attention during lessons and allowing them to be active learners.

These materials will help to transform my classroom into a space where all of my students with different learning styles, attention, and behavioral needs can be supported with comfortable and productive seating options while receiving sensory input through appropriate means; as these behaviors decrease, we will see more learning and focus in our classroom.

My students focus on tasks better if they are able to work in varied positions such as bouncing on a ball, wobbling on a stool, wiggling in their seat, or laying/seated on the floor.
