My Students
My students are in a team taught kindergarten classroom. That means there are about thirty-six students and two teachers all in one room learning together. Our students are five and six years old and are full of life. They come into school every day and are happy to see each other.
They are ready to learn new things.
Our Title I school is located in a small town. It is a wonderful school to be a part of. Students come in and are welcomed by school members who want to help them learn to succeed!
My Project
My students need comfy floor pillows to sit on when sitting at our lowered table. I believe in giving my students choice and helping them find an area in our classroom that fits their learning needs. All students have different learning needs. We have several flexible seating options in our classroom. Many of my students love to sit on the floor but we don't have carpet. They often complain that the ground is hard. We have lowered a table, and now my students need a comfy pillow to sit on while they are learning. My students get easily distracted because they like to move around. Sometimes they move around so much that they fall out of their chairs. These pillows will help provide my students with a comfy learning place that will help them stay focused.
My students love to be able to work together.
These pillows will provide my students a comfy place to sit while they are learning and working together. Thanks to these pillows we will be able to have more group work that will teach the students all about collaboration, tolerance, and getting along with others.
