Help me give my students a variety of flexible seating to choose from, so they can independently read and learn.

My Students
My students come from a small, rural community. Our district is a Title I School with sixty-two percent of the population qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. We are also seeing a growing population of ELL (English Language Learner) students from the Congo. Second grade is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while others are learning to explore, use critical thinking skills, and conduct experiments.
My goal is to give every student an equal chance to learn as much as they possibly can.
Our school population is changing. We are encountering more students who are coming to us with little or no support at home.
As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to find pride in themselves. My classroom is about building skills. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day. My students walk into class every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them. I want them to love coming.
My Project
Our school teaching reading using Units of Study by Lucy Calkins; which means we spend a lot of time independently reading. My students love to have different areas and objects to choose from during this time. Also during partner work, these seating choses will provide my students with the ability to have more seating choices around the classroom. In addition, I have students in my classroom that need to move more during the day and these choices will provide them with a choice of movement. I love to read with my students and watch their love of reading grow. My hope is to give them more flexible seating choices to grow this love!
