My Students

My classroom is a place of exploration and discovery of the world around us! These first graders all come with their own personalities and backgrounds and one of the best ways we can learn is through collaboration and positive communication.

Oh the places we will go!

Throughout the year my students will problem-solve in the land of math, explore our amazing world through science, write about our opinions and the facts we have learned, and read every minute that we can! My students constantly strive to absorb as much information as possible and they learn best in a classroom that provides them with any tools they may need to continue exploring.

My Project

Each student comes into the classroom with different needs. When you think of a traditional classroom, you see each student sitting behind a desk, but this position does not work for all students. In my classroom I want my students to feel they can adjust to the seating position that helps them maintain focus, whether this means simply standing instead of sitting or something more complicated like wiggling in their chair.

Flexible seating provides students with different options to best fit their learning needs.

The Wobble chairs provide children with an outlet to move or fidget in their seats safely without bothering those around them. The lap desks are perfect for students who may not be able to focus with other students in front of them, so sitting up front near the board provides them with a place with less distractions and a greater ability to concentrate. Whether they need to move while in their seat or prefer to be closer to the board, these supplies will provide them with the outlet they may need to be successful.
