My Project
If I have learned anything in my seventh year teaching middle school, it is that students love to feel like they have a VOICE and a CHOICE! With adding some new, flexible seating to the classroom, it will allow students another seating option to explore!
Flexible seating has many benefits which include but are not limited to: choice for students, physical health, comfort, community, connectivity, equity and collaboration!
As we focus on deep learning this year, we often work collaboratively in pairs and small groups. Flexible seating will allow collaboration to be more accessible and comfortable for students. It is my hope that adding flexible seating in the classroom will also instill an excitement for students to grab a cushion, find a partner and enjoy their cooperative learning time!
