I work at an amazing Title I charter school. Third grade is a tough grade where the students are launched into big-kid expectations. In my state, it is a big testing grade, and a lot of pressure is put on these students to succeed.
They are still little, though, and have a hard time focusing at a desk for long periods of time.
That's why I would love to be able to give my students some extra choices. These various types of flexible seating will allow them to have some freedom to choose their work stations and get some wiggles out in the process.
My goal with this project is to help my students be better engaged and allow them to reach their full potential in my classroom. When given a choice, students get to take the lead and ownership of their success and are more motivated. My students work hard every day, and I want to give them the best I can.
