The students in my class are fun loving and silly kids. They come fun low-income families and often face hardships outside of the classroom. This causes a lot of social-emotional needs to occur at school. They still love to laugh, joke, and find the fun in everyday.
These kids have a great desire to learn!
My Project
Students will use these resources to help them once again feel comfortable in a classroom and increase their engagement. The students in my class have high social-emotional needs. Many students also come from low-income backgrounds that cause stresses in their lives. Having the flexibility of movement within the classroom allows these students to feel comfortable, ease their anxiety, and increase engagement during lessons.
The students will use their manipulatives to deepen their understanding of math and build a solid foundation of concepts.
Manipulatives not only aid student understanding, they are ultimately fun and increase their engagement whenever they are used.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
