Help me give my students a developmental environment that includes flexible seating such as ball chairs, cushions, and mats to provide opportunities for hands-on activities for abstract concepts such as letters and reading.
Kindergarten is a year full of development and growth. Kindergarten is meant to be full of hands on learning, a year to try new things, to make mistakes, to make new friends, to learn about school and about themselves. Each student learns in their own way and at their own speed. My Kindergarten students are curious and imaginative. They are fearless and love to explore new things and ideas. They take pride in their work and the community we share in our classroom and school.
My Project
Kindergarten is hands-on. It is messy. It is exploring. It is making mistakes. It is growing. It is changing. My students start the year full of curiosity. My goal for this project is to create a more flexible and hands-on learning environment for my students. The yoga balls will allow students to move about while working. The cushions will help to create a cozy place to read. The yoga mats will be used by groups and individuals. These tools create endless options for students as they discover how they learn best.
Little hands can do great things!
Little hands can use trucks to build an imaginary city or stamp words in play-doh. Little hands can build their names with cubes or explore words using a sensory bin. Little hands are busy. There is no limit to what little hands can do!
