Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 2nd grade, English language learners in a Title I-funded public school in New York City. My students come from Hispanic backgrounds where Spanish is the dominant language spoken at home. My students are always excited to learn new things. They face challenges in learning the English language, however, they have the willingness to learn and do their absolute best every day.

As an ELL teacher, I get the opportunity to work with my students for multiple years and I always love to see the growth in their academics from year to year.

The couch will be used for students as an alternative seating option during whole group, small group, or individual reading time.

Students love having an option to sit on different kinds of seats as students can benefit from having different seating options to help keep them focused.
