My Project

I teach special education for grades k-6. Covid has caused a noticeable increase in my students’s sensory, behavior and emotional needs. This has required me to increase my options for flex seating, set more structured boundaries with timing, focus and expectations for behavior, and to provide opportunities for students to calm when stressed.

The cushions with back rests and lap desks are needed to support comfortable floor seating but also encourage alertness and active participation more than lying on the floor or sitting in a bean bag.

The weighted blanket is for my calm corner.
