Kindergarten is such an exciting group of children with a variety of interests, abilities, and very sociable. While all my students will be learning how to read, write, and count, some of their classmates will rather talk and work on science projects or art projects. In my Kindergarten class we foster a community of learners by respecting one another, sharing our experiences, and rooting each other on when things don't go quite the way we want them too.
Although, all of my students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds they all share the same passions, desires, and goals, and, that is to have fun while learming!
My Project
The furniture and rug that I am requesting is called Flex-Space Round Floor Table and Flex-Space Seat Cushions will help provide my students with a special place within our classroom, that can ultimately maximize their collaborative work, partnership, and enhance their oral language / discussions. The table, cushions, and rug will be placed in our reading and writing nook, surrounded by colorful bins of carefully selected books, writing utensils, and paper. This will be a place where children can meet to plan out their writing, create projects, or just read to each other.
By helping to fund this project, you will not only help improve and enhance my students oral language skills and discussion ability, but, you will ultimately enhance the choices my students make in terms of where they want to sit because of their needs and comfortability.
