This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the future leaders of tomorrow. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. It is my desire to give my students, an even playing field. This will be my 7th year in teaching and third year teaching first grade. I am a big advocate for literacy and math development. I believe in giving my students a head start and equipping them with strategies to broaden their horizon. I make it a mission to encourage my students to believe anything is possible in life. I consider every day to be a wonderful opportunity to teach inquisitive, insightful, delightful, and extraordinary 6-year-olds. Your contribution will facilitate, in the development of authentic, ambitious, imaginative open-minded individuals. The donations will be used to enhance students' learning and help develop well-rounded students.
My Project
These math materials will help my students to develop their mathematics skills. Often, students are not equipped with the skills to fully understand certain math concepts. The ten-frames, place value blocks, time, and money activities will provide students with secure interventions methods.
Also, the math folder games and other manipulatives will help students to learn through hands-on experiences.
Every student is different, and traditional seating is not for everyone. To help those students who need alternative accommodation the cushion and ball will allow those students to better focus on their learning. The clipboards will act as a desk for those students using alternative seating. Your donation will help students to have diverse learning experiences.
