it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 1st grade class of 18 students is full of energy and each student is eager to learn something new. They all have a story to tell, even at such a young age! I have met the most introverted, shy, and diligent students, as well as the most outgoing, full of energy, and willing to help anyone kind of students in previous classes. However, they all have one goal in common: to learn something new everyday. After a unique year of challenges, excitement and learning. I cannot wait to meet my new group of students!
My Project
Flexible seating gives students responsibility and ownership when making choices. Having a place where you feel comfortable and safe while concentrating on a task is very important in order to be successful at it. Imagine working eight hours sitting in the same seat all day (and repeating it five times per week). Now, imagine if you were given the option to work in a place where you felt the most comfortable at. This is why flexible seating in my classroom has become so important! I have seen how each student’s work improves when allowing them to choose where to work.
