This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating items like classroom carpets, stools, and tables empower students by giving them a sense of choice and control over their learning environment. When students are allowed to choose where and how they sit, whether it's on a bean bag, floor cushion, or standing desk, they are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed, and ready to focus. This comfort can lead to increased engagement, improved behavior, and stronger academic performance. Just like adults benefit from working in a space that suits their style, students thrive when their environment is adaptable to their needs.

In addition, flexible seating encourages collaboration, communication, and independence.

Students learn to make decisions, take responsibility for their workspace, and develop important life skills like self-awareness and respect for others. It also helps teachers create a more inclusive classroom where different learning preferences and physical needs are acknowledged and supported. By offering flexible seating, educators show that they trust students and believe in creating a learning space that puts their success and well-being first.
