Flavorful Foundations: Special Education Kitchen Skills

Help me give my students with special needs fundamental kitchen and self-help skills using materials such as a refrigerator-freezer, microwave oven, and kitchen and cleaning items.

My Project

Through hands-on experience with engaging resources, students will learn proper handwashing techniques, how to set the table, do the dishes and safe food handling practices.

Consistent and creative activities in our classroom kitchenette will allow students to acquire valuable, essential, life skills.

With your support our students will gain access to real-life, unlimited lessons of balanced nutrition, meal planning, budgeting for food purchases, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving. Resources that offer step-by-step instructions and visual aids can be especially helpful for students with special needs to develop these life skills.
