My Students

Every second grader reading on or above grade level by the end of the year---that's our goal!

As a Leader in Me school, our students are good at setting goals and working to achieve them.

But from time to time, we need to help them out with materials and experiences that motivate and enrich their efforts. We are a Title I school, which simply means that many of our students get their enrichment experiences directly from school instead of at home.

My Project

We are very lucky to already have a copy of the book Flat Stanley for every 2nd grader. For many, delving into our first chapter books will be an amazing adventure. Imagine following up our book study with a live performance of what they've just read! My students need a trip to The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley for an exciting experience that helps literacy come alive!

Attending a theater performance is a life experience most of our students may not otherwise enjoy.

Getting dressed up. Using our best manners. Caught up in the performance as the action dims. Flashing back to reality when the lights come back up and realizing you've been transported. Priceless!
