This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students, like all others, are having a difficult time not being in school and seeing their friends. Their constant messages saying "I miss you" are heartbreaking. A new thing some teachers are doing is sending a bitmoji picture to their students and having their students "show their teacher around". I thought the idea sounded great! Many of my students do not have a lot of books at home and we have not read any Flat Stanley books in school.

I would like to send a Flat Stanley book to my students, along with a flat teacher.

I thought this would be a fun activity for them and a small way to help at this difficult time.

My Project

These books will hopefully spark a love for a new character in books. Students will be given these books along with a cut out of their teacher. In addition to having their own book to read, they will also spark imagination with the students. Kids can create their own story like the Flat Stanley book, using their teacher. They can also send pictures of their flat teacher around their house and neighborhood to me.

My hope is these books will put a smile on my students faces.

I would like to give them a little gift to let them know I miss them too.
