This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a second grade teacher with 15 curious and hard-working students who come in each morning with smiles on their faces, eager to learn. I love their willingness to try new things and learn from their mistakes. They love hands-on activities that make them think outside of the box. My hope for my class is to give them resources and unique experiences to help them grow into good students and good people. Given this is only my third year teaching, my classroom is lacking many resources and games that I need to support my students.
My Project
I have been brainstorming different ways to making reading fun in the classroom. I would love to have "Flashlight Fridays" where students can read around the room using mini flashlights. My goal as a teacher is to foster a love for reading.
Educators use Teachers Pay Teachers to download supplemental resources that accompany our curriculum lessons.
Many times we use these resources for a center activity or for reinforcing and practicing skills taught during lessons. Providing me with these gift cards will help me make my centers colorful, fun, and engaging.
