This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are respectfully requesting flashcards for studying complex terms, concepts, periods, names, and movements in our AP World History class and Honors Global History. One of the aspects of learning history and social studies that can be daunting is the incredible amount of new names, new vocabulary, geographic locations, and more. The sheer volume can be daunting for many students.

We are requesting flashcards that students can make as they learn and tackle new content.

All of our students commute to school long distances on buses and the subway. The flashcards will allow students to use their commuting time to study without being bulky and unmanageable. We have requested this mini-grant in the past and we are doing so again because it is so effective. The creation of flashcards teaches students the importance of perseverance and studying long-term and not cramming. We are so grateful to you for supporting our scholars.
