Help me give my students watercolor paints so that they can learn how to paint with watercolor techniques! The art room needs watercolor paints so students can create artworks with watercolors!! Thank you!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a high poverty, Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. More than half of the families of my students do not have enough money to buy art supplies for school and are considered low-income households. Also, Title I schools have a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced breakfast/lunch.
My students not only come from low income, high-poverty homes but struggle with the school in other areas (math, reading, and science).
I would like to create drawing and painting projects for ALL of my students!!
My Project
My students LOVE to paint and we need watercolor paints in the art room. There are so many different projects that students can make with watercolor paints. This year, we are creating watercolor flamingoes with the second grade. They will learn how to use watercolors by creating a "wet on wet" and "wet on dry" technique. This project will also allow my students to learn about light and dark values by layering colors.
Thanks for helping my students learn about watercolor painting in art.
The students will learn to mix paints, make value scales, paint flamingoes with the paints. This will give them a real art experience.
Again, thank you for your support in the arts in education and helping us get watercolor sets. We appreciate everything you do for us!
