My students need School supplies( pencil bags, pencils, erasers, composition books, folders, and backpacks), school uniforms, and leveled reader math and science books(for reading practice in class and at home). They need their tools for success!
My students are truly unique individuals with very creative minds. They love school but face some hardships that most may not at their age which hinders learning at times. They are full of life and love and are very independent little people. My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and bring a lot of flavor to the mix. These differences allow for a phenomenal learning experience for our future leaders of the world making them better prepared to work with teams later in life. There is so much to know and understand about my students but words cannot fully express the extent of their individuality and hardships. In order to be able to focus on learning students must have the necessary tools such as, a good meal, clean clothes/good hygiene, a good nights rest, and the school supplies required to learn. Without these tools for success how can we expect them to focus on the task at hand and their clothes may be soiled due to a lack of a washer and dryer, or they are hungry and tired so their stomach is grumbling and they can barely stay awake. These are the struggles our students are facing.
My Project
The materials being requested are : pencils, pencil bags, a stool for washing hands (practicing good hygiene), folders for class, backpacks, math reading books, kinesthetic manipulatives, and the basic classroom essentials.
These materials will help my students learning by having more updated tools and books that grasp their interest and are in pristine condition.
The kids will be excited to come to school and willing to learn when they have something to look forward to. Our kids cannot afford everything they need for school so removing that stress from their lives will better position them to learn in a healthier environment and without outside distractions or concerns. By providing these materials to our students they can focus on school and not focus on what they do not have.
