My Project
I'd like to purchase the Five Star Spiral Notebooks for my students this school year. Last year, I noticed very few students had these 11 x 8.5 sized journals, and when gluing notes/documents in their, there was not need to fold, or turn it sideways, their journals were large enough to fully fit a regular sized paper document on their pages. I want every student to experience this convenience; thus giving every student the chance to take Five Star notes.
Journals provide a structured way for students to organize their mathematical thoughts/processes, formulas, and problem-solving strategies.
This helps them develop good note-taking habits early on, which are crucial for all subjects now and in the future. Though the school provides composition books, journals make the note taking experience easier by being able to write on both sides of the pages.
Journals serve as a repository for their notes, allowing them to review previous lessons and reinforce learning, which is particularly important in a subject like mathematics where each concept builds upon previous ones.
I plan to allow students to decorate their cover pages with stickers that I have collected and purchased to express their personalities which in return will encourage more participation and ownership. Not only will that encourage active participation in class but it will also promote engagement with the material outside of school hours, as they may revisit their journals to reinforce learning or prepare for assessments. Yay!
Please help me give ALL of my students a Five Star Note taking experience.
Each student's journal reflects their individual learning journey and progression.
By the end of the year, the journals will be full of notes and materials that will be a great asset for students to hold on to and reference as they progress through their Secondary journey.
