This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want to give my students so much because they have so little. Most of the students I work with come from homes below the poverty line in the Bronx, and I want them to have the chance to experience something positive that can influence their lives. Some of these students don't have access to the simplest supplies at home.
I want my students to be exposed to as much as possible so that they don't fall behind.
Even though they have so much going against them, they bounce back each time and come to school ready to learn. They look to our school as a safe place away from their living environment, and that makes me want to provide them with everything I can.
My Project
There are dozens of different physical activities that teenagers can partake in at school, home, and friends. I want to open my students' eyes by showing them how they can track the fitness data over time. I work in an area where the students only have access to fast food and do not have many healthy food choices. I Want to improve the physical education program at my school.
Staying active can reduce the likelihood of obesity and other weight-related problems.
Combining physical fitness with a healthy diet can also reduce the risk of heart disease and increase the lifespan of healthy individuals.
The apple air I'm asking for can help the student input data into a program where the student can track changes to fitness programs such as bench press, squatting, and cardiovascular endurance activities over a period of time. Having a visual graph on the MacBook will help the students grow in the fitness program and better understand why fitness is so important in daily life. The MacBook will also help the students develop healthy food plans. A healthy meal plan to help them fight obesity can assist them in tracking their health goals and give them the chance to work on statistics like their heart rate before and after exercise. The extreme portability of it makes it perfect for our unique situation; we have no gym! This is the ideal tool to spark a lifetime of personal fitness interest in my students. The Apple Max headphones will help students in my class stay focused when entering data into the computer. In addition, can help them stay focused during fitness activities.
