Fitness for Life

My students need fitness equipment to pursue their goal of FITNESS FOR LIFE!!!! The recumbent bikes will be used for cardiovascular activity which my students needs every day.

My Students

Hello wonderful Donorschoose donors! I want to thank you for your time as I introduce to the most awesome middle school students I have the pleasure to teach. The students in our school district have the distinct opportunity to be part of a culture that is rich in diversity and very supportive of student learning. Our students work hard and have many many successes in and out of the classroom. All students in our school district believe in BEING FIT FOR LIFE as the Physical Education curriculum is one hundred percent fitness based.

The school district has set the precedent that fitness is valued for everyone and our students see this modeled at every grade level.

Our students enjoy engaging in many different types of fitness activities and truly comprehend why fitness is extremely valuable and important.

My Project

INDIANA CONTINUES TO RANK IN THE TOP TEN FOR THE MOST OBESE STATES. We are number seven for the most obese states and this needs to change. It is crucial that our students not only get their heart rate up on a daily basis but that they exercise their heart in their Target Heart Rate Zones.

Having recumbent bikes that can be used for cardio fitness, and tennis trainer balls and shuttlecocks that will be used for skill development and games, and storage carts that will be used to store and organize equipment will allow us as Physical Education teachers to use different means to accomplish the goal of getting our students' heart rates up and into their target heart rate zones .

Cardio exercise will burn calories to help reduce obesity as well as instill the value of FITNESS FOR LIFE.
