Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school in California. My students are ethnically diverse and qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My students are busy and motivated kindergarteners who like to explore, make friends, and learn new things every day. They are learning the importance of teamwork and respect for their peers.

My kindergartners are learning to cooperate and collaborate with their peers.

This is a major mile-stone for young children. Opportunities to spend time with peers in a fun, and engaging physical activities reinforce these skills.

My Project

Currently our classroom has limited PE equipment. My 26 students have to share 2 broken tricycles, 1 ball and 3 bent hula-hoops during our P.E. time. This is not enough P.E. equipment for my busy Kindergarten students.

The Kaplan Gross Motor Skills kit includes hula hoops, bean bags, balls, many items that will keep my class of twenty-six active and happy as they improve their physical fitness.

I am also requesting the Mobile Gross Motor Cart which will provide us with the organization we need to keep our items safe since we can wheel it inside after our P.E. time.
