My Students
We are a neighborhood school in the School District of Philadelphia. Our students come from the low income in Philadelphia, our entire school qualifies for free lunch and transportation to and from school based on the fact that a majority of the students live below the poverty line.

Our students face many obstacles yet they persevere. Our students need support and aid in any way possible to help increase their chances of being successful.
My Project
My students have discussed the needs of having a fitness center at our comprehensive neighborhood high school. They expressed the inability to afford a personal gym membership. Having equipment in school would be of great assistance. A Smith Machine would be a great addition to the fitness room and can be used for a variety of exercises.
Developing a fitness room has been a goal of the students since I began teaching at the school.
The student body has given me several goals they wish to accomplish in the development of this fitness center to make it accessible and appealing to all students in the school.
In conclusion, a Smith Machine is an incredible machine that allows students to do a variety of exercises that target various muscle groups.
