My Students

My students are an amazing group of third graders. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth-grade school located in rural California. It houses 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.

My school had a fire on January 26.

I lost my entire classroom to smoke damage. The materials requested in this project are to help my students and I rebuild our classroom and supplies.

My Project

My students need timers, water bottles, fitness equipment, posters, incentive charts, clipboards, storage boxes and Presidential Fitness awards.

Our school had a fire last school year.

Our primary building was torn down and potables were placed on our playground which has limited our playing space. I am requesting supplies so my students can continue to play and participate in p.e. in a smaller area.

The water bottles were requested to make sure students stay hydrated. We have water jugs in our classroom and students use plastic cups. What a waste! With the water bottles, students will always have water at their work areas and will stay healthy and hydrated. We have a variety of outside organizations that come to our school and teach health and p.e. One of their focuses is on the importance of hydration. Students will be able to use these bottles in class and also when participating in p.e. activities. Staying hydrated is key to keeping fit and healthy.

At the beginning of each school year students do a baseline test in p.e. They are tested for agility, strength and endurance. The stopwatch, and p.e. equipment will be used to practice skills throughout the year so students can improve their testing.

The posters, incentive charts and awards will be used to reinforce and reward students for all their hard work. The posters and charts will be used to keep track of progress and goals. The awards will be used for students when they reach their goals.

The clipboards and storage boxes will be used for organizing all of the materials.
