Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you seen the new movie that just came out? Well my students have seen or heard of it and are very excited about that.
My students all come from low social-economic backgrounds and they are all on free lunch.
Their home experiences are limited and are unable to experience a variety of cultural experiences. They have limited vocabulary and limited knowledge of fairy tales.
My Project
With these resources my students will be able to compare and contrast the movie to the book. They will also be able to have a visual experience of what is being read. They will be able to tie the visual descriptions in their head to what they are reading.
This project is important because my students will be able to read a new book that they have not seen yet.
They will also be able to experience a totally different genre than what they have been exposed too.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
