We are a first grade inclusion classroom at our school in Middletown.
Our students have a lot of energy and love of learning!
We are part of a large school district in New Jersey, but have that small town feel in our school. We are eager to learn and are embarking upon some new and exciting educational adventures with Readers Workshop. Our students all have a love for reading and enjoy a variety of text that interest them. As we move forward with our new approach to reading instruction, we are in need of the materials to supply them with all the tools necessary to continue to strive to achieve their individual potentials as well as keep reading fun.
My Project
We are beginning Reading Workshop in our district and need supplies to help maintain this new program. Our PTO and our district are doing everything they can to provide us with lots of new literature in the classrooms, but we are in need of supplies to help organize and manage those text . We have been leveling all our books and now need a place to store leveled books and students need book bags for their chairs to hold books for workshop time. Each student will have about 10 books to choose from, so a sturdy and spacious holder is needed. We also want to provide lots of seating choices for our class since we will be reading independently, with partners and whole group throughout each day. We are looking for some fun flexible seating to use during this time. Finally we are looking to keep the students and ourselves more organized to manage this transition and help us have ample time for reading. We are in need of bins and organizers so materials are more easily accessible for all. Thank you for your support.
