This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As I get ready to welcome a brand new group of Fabulous Firsties, I’m already dreaming up ways to make learning unforgettable. One thing I know for sure: first graders love classroom transformations, and I love creating hands-on, meaningful experiences that bring learning to life.

As part of our culminating activity for our learning about the Human Body, we’ll be transforming our classroom into Firstie Hospital, a place where students can explore, create, and imagine while deepening their understanding of how the body works.

To make this transformation engaging and magical, I’m requesting supplies that will help set the scene. Each student will receive a doctor badge, disposable gown, and gloves as they rotate through fun, interactive stations. From learning body parts with a felt board to using syringe pens and bandages at our treatment tables, every detail will support both science learning and imaginative play. We’ll use cardstock and sticker paper to create printables, labels, and activities, and our tables will be covered in calming sky blue tablecloths to complete the hospital look.

Even before the year starts, I know this will be a highlight for my future students. With your support, I can give them a powerful, joy-filled learning experience that builds science knowledge, teamwork, and creativity.
