My Project
I am a first-year teacher, and I will be teaching 4th grade reading and social studies. As I begin this journey, one of my biggest goals is to create a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning. I am especially passionate about helping my students become confident readers and critical thinkers.
I want to expand my classroom library with age-appropriate books that reflect the diversity of our world, spark imagination, and support both academic growth and personal development.
I believe that access to a wide range of engaging books is essential in helping students connect with the material, build empathy, and discover their own voices.
In addition to building a rich library, I’m also seeking out learning tools and materials that will give my students the best educational opportunity possible. Whether it’s hands-on social studies resources, literacy games, or flexible seating to support different learning styles, I’m committed to creating a space where every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired.
One specific classroom need is individual storage trays. These would allow me to create an organized and efficient system for turning in and returning papers, which helps minimize distractions and maximize instructional time. Students would benefit by having a clear routine and personal space for their work, which promotes responsibility, independence, and smoother transitions throughout the day.
Teaching is more than just delivering content—it’s about building relationships, guiding students to discover their potential, and nurturing their growth as learners and individuals. I am excited and honored to play a role in each of my students’ journeys.
