First Year Teacher Getting a Head Start!

My Students

I have yet to meet my students for this coming year. I am moving to a new site from my last 4 years as a Special Education Assistant and just received my masters in Special Education from St. Thomas through a residency program.

What I can tell you about my students is that they will be on IEP's (Individualized education plans) and they will be amazing.

They will make me love my job more and more every day. They will inspire me to be my best self and push me to support them so they can do the same. My students will be brilliant beyond their years. I haven't even met them yet and I already know that together we will thrive.

My Project

Hey there! I am a first year teacher that will be working as a Special Education teacher in a middle school in North Minneapolis. Since I am straight out of school, times are tough and I am looking for support in helping me get my classroom started. I am looking forward to making a difference and my students lives and creating an environment they feel loved and respected in and the first start is to build a welcoming classroom!

The materials I chose are just a good start for me to create a strong classroom library, games to play with students for social emotional learning, flexible seating for students who need it, and starter supplies for myself and my students so we can start the year off prepared and ready to learn from each other.

I am also requesting a TPT gift card so I can get some great learning, inspiring and fun resources for my kids.
