This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

After five years of courses dedicated toward education, it is finally my time to have my own classroom! I will be in a 4th grade classroom with about 25 students. I want my students to be actively involved in the construction of their own knowledge and need basic materials to do so!

My school is a part of an urban district.

Many of my students are English Language Learners from low income households. However, they are ready to learn and dedicated to doing well! I see my classroom as a safe community. We all work together and support one another.

My Project

Since this is my first job, I do not have a lot of money to put into basic classroom supplies. I would love to have materials to get the year started. This includes markers, bins, easel paper, and even a stapler! Again, since my families are of low income, I do not feel comfortable asking for donations. However, I do want a classroom with basic materials for everyday lessons.

These materials will help to create a solid base of supplies for our classroom.

It will take the financial burden away from me, as well as help my students with daily tasks. During whole group lessons, we will use the easel paper which will then be hung on the wall as a reference!
